People leave camp at various times and string out during the day. Some people ride primarily by themselves and seem to like it that way. Others ride in twos and threes but our little group tends to head off as a pack as we all tend to ride at the same pace. Sometimes, if conditions warrant, we’ll be chatting amongst ourselves. Other times we’ll just space out a little and be silent for a while. If it’s windy we will often form a little pace line and take turns pulling at the front.

We pulled in to Elk City after about 26 miles and had a great lunch at a little diner – topped off with a piece of homemade pie!! ( we are burning so many calories it doesn’t matter at all!). After that it was a pretty leisurely ride into Sayre, OK. This will be our last night in Oklahoma and will cross over the border into Texas tomorrow – another milestone!!
