Happy New Year 2018!!

I have decided to resurrect this blog more for my own record of what happens than for the purpose of trying to reach a huge audience.  If anyone wants to come along for the ride or check in from time to time, you are more than welcome.  I have outlined a plan but like all plans, it is subject to change without notice.  I heard someone say recently, “As soon as you announce your plans to the world, God starts laughing.”  I’m not a religious person but I like the thought.  So, we’ll see how things turn out this year.

I handed over the last set of my keys and my garage door opener today so as of today I am officially homeless!!  Almost all of my worldly possessions are in storage except for two suitcases and my briefcase!! Well, I’m not exactly homeless.  I am living in an Airbnb rental in Studio City near where Jordan lives.  It’s a guest house in someone’s back yard and is actually perfect for my needs.   It’s within walking distance of a Starbucks, a bagel place, Ralph’s supermarket – what more could you ask.

It’s amazing how things come full circle.  About 37 or 38 years ago, I was

living in a guest house on someone’s property out in Mandeville Canyon when I was working for Dames & Moore!  Now here I am again in someone’s guest house!

The place will do nicely for the next three weeks until I head to New York City with Jordan.  I have an Airbnb rental there through the end of March so we’ll see what that’s like.

I will spend the next three weeks being Jordan’s ‘Uber driver’ as such.  She got a job at a pediatric clinic in New York and it turns out they have an office in Silver Lake as well so she will be doing her training here.  So, I will be shuttling her there and back everyday.  That should more than frustrate me with LA traffic!!  It will give me an opportunity to practice patience!!

Well, I guess that’s about it for day two in Studio City.
