Living in NYC!!

This is exactly why one should be very judicious in the use of the word ‘never’.  I’m sure in my past life I have uttered the phrase, “I would never live in New York!” – and here I am!
Jordan – New York Bound

Jordan and I left LA on a 9 a.m. flight and even caught a bit of a tail wind (unusual going East) so we actually got in a little early.  Traffic into the city was ‘normal’.  Why anyone would have a car in Manhattan is beyond me.  The cab dropped Jordan off at her dorm and then he dropped me off at my apartment about 20 blocks away.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by my apartment.  It’s in a nice neighborhood.  The place has a 24 hour doorman and is a very secure building.

Kitchen – NY apartment

My apartment is on the 11th floor and is very quiet.  There is a Trader Joe’s just a couple short blocks away and a Duane Reade (like CVS) just 1/2 block down the street.  And there are tons of eating establishments just within the couple of blocks I explored a little.

My living room – NY apartment

Tomorrow my goal is to find the nearest Starbucks, get the New York Times Sunday paper and then go exploring some more.  Jordan has to work tomorrow (she is finishing up her training at the pediatrics clinic she is working parttime at) but she may come over after work to check out my new digs.

The weather is quite nice right now (in the 40’s and 50’s) but I have my snow boots and heavy jackets for when things get worse (and they will!!).

So this will be my base of operations for the next 10 weeks or so.  I have the place reserved through the end of March and then ????
