Didn’t get washed away – ‘Bomb cyclone’!

There was not much exploring this week for two very good reasons.  Jordan had mid-terms in Calculus and Chemistry this week so she was over on Monday and Tuesday studying.  I’m certainly getting a good brush up on my calculus! And I help where I can with the chemistry – not my favorite nor my strong suit.  And the second reason was that the Northeast got hammered by a ‘bomb cyclone’ on Thursday and Friday.   It was so rainy and windy on Thursday, I didn’t even venture outside.  And Friday wasn’t much better.

I did, however, make it back to another open rehearsal at the New York Philharmonic on Wednesday.  It is a great way to spend 2 or 3 hours.  This time, the conductor had a microphone so when he wanted to go over a particular section of the music, the auditorium could hear what he was telling the orchestra.  It was pretty fascinating.

Today, two different people asked me directions on the subway (one going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the other going to the World Trade Center memorial) and I was able to tell them which train they needed to take and what stop to get off at!  Just a regular New Yorker now!!  :0)

The only thing on the agenda for this week is to begin my stone carving class on Wednesday night (thanks, Jay!).  That should keep me busy with a nice project until I leave in a few weeks.

Jordan is going home for a few days starting Friday since spring break is next week so I will have to plan some interesting adventure/class for the weekend.  We’ll see.

  1. Mike, it’s good that you can help out visitors with directions, but if you were really a “regular New Yorker” you’d probably either ignore them or tell them to f* off! Is your sculpture class at The Compleat Sculptor? I can’t wait to hear details about it!

    1. Yes, the class is at The Compleat Sculptor. It was supposed to start last night but a “Nor’Easter” hammered NYC yesterday so it will be next Wednesday. I plan to be back in LA in early May. Hopefully you’ll be in town.
